Stone by stone, Grace has built her house. She lives in the Acholi Quarter, an expansive slum just outside of Kampala where many northern Ugandans settled after being displaced by war. The quarter has a large rock quarry running through it. A couple of times a month, Grace takes money she made through Tuli to the quarry to get some stones.

When we met Grace a year ago, her home was one room. Now, it's expanded to three, which is still cramped between her and the ten family members she supports, Nonetheless, neighbors often come by her home to revel at its quick progression.

Grace's dream: To install flooring and glass windows in her home. She'd also like doors that lock, and running water.
