Labolo rents a room in a slum with her husband and daughter for about $10 monthly. Her husband works in the nearby rock quarry, where he earns $1-$3 per week, depending on demand. Before Labolo began making beads, most of her household's earnings went straight to rent, with little left for anything else.
Labolo's dream is to one day rent a home for just herself, her husband, and her daughter.
Her message to Tuli supporters: "Thank you for making our lives so much better and giving us a job."
